I've checked the websafe app and I've got no blocked sites and I've tried with both virus safe and child safe switched off which made no difference. I've even tried adding the website to the allowed list but again no difference.
I've rang 150 and have been told that Virgin Media block access to this site which I can't believe given its just a bicycle retailer but I couldn't get any further with that on the phone.
I've raised the issue via a webpage on the virgin media site to get the site unblocked but I've not received any confirmation of the request and now can't find the page I made the request from so I'm not holding out much hope on that one.
I've also contacted Evans Cycles and asked if my IP address has been blocked and have been told:
"This is not something that has been done by us. We are unable to block individuals from reaching our website. Therefore, I would ask that you contact your provider."
I feel like I've tried everything I can but now have got nowhere left to go.
I'm just wondering if any one else on Virgin Media Broadband has the same issue or if it's just me?
I couldn't find another similar posts which leads me to think it's just me.
I know I've waffled on long enough thanks for getting this far.
it's not blocked, if it were blocked virgin would inform you it's blocked
During the phone call to support on 150 I was told that Virgin Media block access to this site and I couldn't get any further with support after that. Obviously it's hit and miss given other replies and an error in my opinion.
Site runs fine here so likely you have a CDN issue for your area.
Thanks for confirmig it works for you. I don't know what CDN is or if I'll stand a chance of trying to talk support through that given my call last night but its strange that I was told that Virgin block the site even though obviously they don't block everyone. I'll give support another call and see if I can get any further armed with the knowledge that others can access the site.
Okay I'be been back on to virgin media support via the phone. They say they've lifted the restriction that was on the account and that I may have to wait 1-2 hours for it to work. I think all they've done is turn off child safe in web safe as there was an email in my inbox immediately the call ended saying the settings in web safe had changed.
Its not changed at the moment, still can't access the site, and I don't think this is the answer but I suppose I'll have to give the 1-2 hours to see if its resolved the issue. I'll update later.
But, a couple of minutes later, the lookup provides three more IP addresses and a couple of minutes after that, yet three more IP addresses.
You may like to try pointing your PC at a different DNS (try 184.108.40.206 or 220.127.116.11) and see if that makes a difference. Or creating a local hosts file to force your web browser to use one of the IP addresses listed above.
