Trying to get Wi-Fi pods - no joy

Hey, yet again I’ve been having a seriously hard time with VM customer support.

My internet is great when we’re in our kitchen or living room, but all but 1 of our bedrooms get no Wi-Fi signal at all, just due to the shape of our house. One Wi-Fi pod would probably completely rectify this.

I have phoned customer services three times now, each time they say “yep you’re a volt customer you are eligible for 3 free Wi-Fi pods and I’ll put your first order in now”. Each time it’s the same thing: expect a text or email from Yodel within 72 hours. Nothing ever happens. There is never a record of the previous order each time I phone. This has been going on for about four weeks.

The funny thing about the VM connect app is that when Wi-Fi signal drops off completely when you’re doing a speed test the test continues on 5G and gives a great result. Hilarious, but also infuriating. I have forced it to give me a poor result on Wi-Fi with multiple attempts at standing in a certain position in our hall; just enough to hang on the last bar of Wi-Fi until the end of the test. When it let me click through to order the pod I couldn’t complete the order, the submit button was disabled.

Has anyone else experienced similar? How can I get a Wi-Fi pod?

Thank you!

I prefer retail Wireless Repeaters, that way I get an unlocked device that works with any ISP

Hi @tecnam2011

Have you tried calling  0800 064 3850 to order the first one?

VM will only send out one at a time, and there must be at least  7 days before ordering each one. It's up to three in total depending upon coverage.

Following that if you need additional pods you can order them by logging into /my-virgin-media, as per the info below from https://www.virginmedia.com/wifi-max ?

How do I get a second or third WiFi Pod?
If you’re not getting download speeds of at least 30Mbps in every room with one WiFi Pod, you can request a second or third by signing in to My Virgin Media, clicking on Your Package and following the steps in the WiFi Max tab
