Too warm?

I have a superhub 3 router. I find the router and the 12v adaptor plug get very warm and this concerns me, especially as the previous router didn't.  I have been told to keep the router plugged in to support the v6 box. This concerns me on two levels:

•the electricity it uses. Aren't we supposed to reduce our consumption to help control climate change?  Not to mention the cost.

•Is this a fire risk? Why is the router and plug so warm?

Any help out there?

Re: Too warm?

As with all electronic equipment the harder it works the hotter it gets.

There is nothing to stop you switching the Hub and V6 boxes off when they aren't in use.

On the Hub 3 the power light will go red to indicate an overheat.

Ensure that the Hub and PSU are on a hard surface with plenty of ambient ventilation. On a windowsill is a good place.
