TP-Link Range Extender TL-WA85ORE

Have recently purchased this extender.  I have a VM Super Hub.  I have followed the set-up instructions using the 'via WPS Button' method but the range extender function doesn't work.  The device's network id appears on my PC but it won't connect.  Why.

Probably because that device only uses the 2.4Ghz band and doesn't like the 'Smart Wifi' built into the HUB, that uses both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz.

You could try splitting your SSID (Network Name) into two, like below, to see if it helps:

Not sure what speed package you are on, however that extender is certainly at the 'Cheap and cheerful' end, and won't give you very good speeds.

Re: TP-Link Range Extender TL-WA85ORE

That extender will give you limited results
Its only 2.4ghz
only 802.11b/g/n
and only has 100mbos ports.

If you are happy with a wireless speed under about 30mbps you'll be fine
