TP-Link Deco

Thinking of getting a TP Link Deco mesh set up as not happy with my Hub 4, can people recommend a certain model an are they easy to set up?

Re: TP-Link Deco

M5 or M9 will do unless you want/need AX Wifi.

Re: TP-Link Deco

The M4 range is a little cheaper and may well do the job. Depends on what features you want -a 2-pack can be had for ~£70.

Re: TP-Link Deco

So all I want is something to give me better wi-fi as my hub 4 is so hit and miss one minute giving me great wi fi speed then the next rubbish, for example did 3 speed tests this morning within a minute of each and got 40.8 then 9.28 and then 367!!!!

Not got a big house so 2 might be ok? One next to Virgin router then one upstairs on landing

Presume I just plug the first one into Hub 4 and put the hub 4 into modem mode?

Re: TP-Link Deco

Bearing in mind you have another post where the upstream levels may be out of spec.

Id make sure that’s ok first before jumping in and buying other equipment.

Re: TP-Link Deco

I had an engineer come out and they changed my upstream and downstream levels which are meant to be ok???
SO if they are not right might still have same issue?

Re: TP-Link Deco

If the power levels are incorrect, this will affect the speed of the Hub, ergo the wifi.

Best to get the circuit working properly before moving onto modem mode and a Mesh system.

Post up the stats again - post-Tech visit

Also... if you get the Deco's there is a squence to follow to set them up - either search on here for or ask and we can post it up for you

Re: TP-Link Deco

Post up how you got on.

I changed to a twin Deco M4 last weekend and wish I had done it a lot sooner! Would highly recommend it, 70 quid from Argos and getting a strong solid signal throughout the house, no dodgy areas at all.
