TP Link Deco M5

I’ve just tried to set the TP Link Deco M5 up.

Put my SH3 in modem mode

go through all the set up and create the network.  At the very last stage the Deco light goes red and in can’t establish an internet connection?  Tried multiple times and don’t know what I’m doing wrong

Re: TP Link Deco M5

Please try in this sequence:

  • Power down the HUB and the M5.
  • Power on the M5 and wait for it to initialise.
  • Power on the HUB.

Re: TP Link Deco M5

Its likely due to the way the 2 LAN/WAN ports work that DHCP happens from the TP Link Deco M5 and a PC connected to the TP Link Deco M5 that its a race as to who does the DHCP.

Connect a PC to the hub in modem mode and get that working then connect that PC to the TP Link Deco M5 and use the MAC clone of the PC and that should work.
