SuperHub 4 losing DHCP Public IP when in Modem mode with MikroTik

Hi folks,

Over the past 2 weeks I have been experiencing issues with my network connection whereby my MikroTik RB4011 is losing it's public IP address when connected to the SuperHub 4 that is running in Modem mode. This happens intermittently but often throughout the day and night, here is a screenshot of the logs from my MikroTik

ColinM9991_1-1624272484569.png

This only started occurring within the past 2 weeks and I have done a full reset of all equipment (SH4, RB4011) in that time. I've also disabled my custom equipment and spent the weekend running on the SuperHub 4 but still experienced drop-offs.

My investigation over the past 2 weeks has been leading me to believe that the SuperHub 4, or there about, is the cause. I then came across this thread which perfectly describes my issue, all from the problem description to the equipment in use - everything is identical.

I thought I'd phone VM support today, to see if it was something that they could look at, but that was a mistake as the person on the other end just obsessed over WiFi and said the problem was that the SuperHub 4 was running on modem only mode which disables WiFi - talking out of their rear end, basically.

I'm hoping to get a bit more traction here so that I can actually work towards having this issue resolved. Has anybody here experienced this?

Here is my BQM which I have just set up today.

Re: SuperHub 4 losing DHCP Public IP when in Modem mode with MikroTik

Ideally you'd need to rule out your own router.

Do you have a spare you could use to test? If not, leaving connected to a laptop could work to see if it does go down.

It may be worth posting up your logs:

Can you post your Hub status and logs?
Someone should be spot if there is a problem
Navigate to http://192.168.0.1 (or http://192.168.100.1 - if in modem mode)
Don't log in!
Click on 'router status'
Copy/paste the data from each of the tabs. The forum software will remove the MAC addresses for you (you may need to click the 'post' button again).

Re: SuperHub 4 losing DHCP Public IP when in Modem mode with MikroTik

Thank you for your reply.

I have another router that is currently configured as an access point. This does also experience some drop-offs but I'm not sure if it's for the same reason.

My next few messages will contain the details from the SuperHub as requested.

I've trimmed the older events from the network log as it was quite large. They're all DHCP events.

Re: SuperHub 4 losing DHCP Public IP when in Modem mode with MikroTik

There are a couple of T3 timeouts that can cause D/S to drop (which would appear to be what is being experienced)

The power levels look fine with no errors.

I'm wondering if the ethernet port on the hub is borked.. or the cable! That could also give the same symptoms!

Re: SuperHub 4 losing DHCP Public IP when in Modem mode with MikroTik

I've just replaced the cable, with a backup that arrived this morning, and have plugged it into a different port on the hub. Will monitor the situation and see how it goes.
