Super Hub 3- speed loss on wired connections

I have a PS4 and media box hard wired to my super hub 3, I can get speeds of around 300mps normally, but the speed on each device keeps dropping to around 15mps? I have to keep rebooting or pulling out the cat5 cable from the back of each device to get the speed back up. This happens even if i only have one device connected. Would anyone know what is causing this is happen?

Hi lickquid,

Thank you for your post. I'm sorry to hear this.

Does this happen at certain points in the day?

Get new, good quality, Cat6 cables and try them first.

Re: Super Hub 3- speed loss on wired connections

Hi Martin

If I reboot any of the devices hardwired they keep the speed, once I power them down and leave them for a while, when i restart them the speed has dropped drastically.

I then have to remove the cat5 cables and reboot the device for the speed to come back.

Yes Cat5 is old technology now and was only guaranteed" up to 100mbps - Cat6 is the latest approved standard, or use Cat5e at the very least for up to 1000mbps.

Re: Super Hub 3- speed loss on wired connections

Many Thanks for the advice, I will look to upgrade.I m not sure that this will fix my problem though, Im starting to think its the router (superhub 3), Imo the worst router I've had, WiFi is shocking.

Ill try your suggestion.
