Virgin Media must be preventing some TV apps from streaming 4K/UHD content to preserve bandwidth.
I have played the same content through the V6 box and it is in 4K but when using the TV’s app, it is only HD.
I would prefer to use the TV apps because they are faster and better and some apps like Disney+ are not on the V6 box.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Is the TV connected to your Hub by wifi or ethernet cable? What make model of TV is it ?
If on wifi - try it on a Cat6a ethernet cable - that will provide maximum speeds.
