Solid orange light on hub 3 and intermittent Wi-fi connection issues.

Hi, I have a solid orange light on my hub 3 and problems connecting devices to Wi-fi. The incoming internet speed seems solid so worried that my hub might be the problem. Have reset a number of times, factory reset and tried disconnecting boosters etc but it’s still coming back orange. Is a replacement hub needed? Can anyone help?

Try this first. Do a Hub “pinhole reset” - make sure the 2 passwords on the Hub sticker are still there and legible first ! Disconnect any ethernet cables from the Hub, and then with the Hub still "switched on" throughout, press pin in firmly with paper clip/SIM tray tool or similar "thin thing" and hold it firmly for at least 60 seconds, release the pin, leave for 10’ to stabilise - dont manually switch it off at any time.

See if that gets everything working

Thanks John. Tried the pinhole reset but still have the orange light and poor Wi-fi strength.

Reading on here it looks like others with a similar problem have had a new hub dispatched. Is there anyone on here from VM that can help?

VM staff take 5-10 days to respond on here. Call it in on 150 (VM Phone) or 0345 454 1111 (any other phone) and see what they say when they test the Hub & connection.

Calling at 08.00 midweek (09.00 Sun)— is the best time to get through quickly.

Thanks John. Hub light has now turned red and very warm! Out in the open so shouldn’t be a problem.

Sorry to hear of this.

 

Can you make sure that nothing is obstructing the vents and the hub is upright? 

 

Is it the power light also that is red or the WiFi light?

Hi, thanks for your reply. It’s definitely the power light. Vents are unobstructed and the hub is upright. I’ve just done the factory reset again and it’s come back on red straight away.
