Slower than expected WiFi

I pay £52 a month for a 1gb WiFi speed which barely hits above 100mb. Then why I call customer service and complain to see if it will get sorted you end the phone on me. I would like someone from virgin media to explain to me on why you treat your customers so poorly and give the worst broadband out it’s an utter disgrace and disappointing. Never will I ever recommend this WiFi to anybody

You don't pay for 1Gbps WiFi. You pay for a 1Gbps broadband connection to your Hub. With a suitable wired connection to your Hub you should get very nearly that speed. With WiFi the speed is limited by many factors in your house.

If your VM contract includes free 'pods' to improve the coverage then you can ask for them. But VM only promises 30Mbps over WiFi.

My name is NOT Alessandro. That's just a tag Virginmedia sticks on some contributors. Please ignore it.

See this topic from earlier today as to why you won't get gigabit speed over wifi from a VM hub

What wireless device (make and model no.) are you using to test your wi-fi speed?

Well that stupid bit like saying I pay for a Jaguar XJ220 out side my house but I'm not allowed to go in it or drive it.

The correct saying is you get 1Gb by wire supported to your device excluding limiting stuff like 1Gb NIC max is 940Mb unless you have a hub 5 and device with 2.5Gb NIC or better.

So if you think you can do better for wifi get your own router and AP
