Set up wifi users

Does the Hub 3 have the ability to set up wifi user groups?

So the set up I used in the past with Disney circle I could pair all the Mac address for each device on my network to a user name, say child 1, child 2, guest etc.

So should child 1 misbehave I could turn off the wifi to all of there devices and it not effect anyone else.

It seems the Disney app doesn't work with Virgin so I would like a substitute.

Re: Set up wifi users

You can use the Virgin Media Connect app to pause Internet access on individual devices:

A lot of the Netgear routers come with Disney Circle built in, if you would prefer to use that app:

https://www.netgear.com/landings/circle/

I believe the Netgear R7000 that I use has it but I have no kids so have never tried it.

Re: Set up wifi users

Hi s21slm,

Thanks for your post.

Unfortunately, we aren't able to group devices together so you are able to turn certain devices off at the same time. However, as @SCA1972 has correctly mentioned, you are able to pause/unpause individual devices through our Connect app.

With regards to the Disney app, what happens when you try to connect to this through our network?

Thanks

Re: Set up wifi users

Lyndsey_c

As the hub 3 is not a netgear device, Disney circle wont connect to my Hub 3.

Are they any plans to be able to group devices together?

Trying to remove a childs internet access 1 device at a time is a pain in the backside especially when they are not even listed alphabetically.

Cheers

Re: Set up wifi users

Hi s21slm,

We aren't aware of any plans to be able to group devices together, however, if this is something we bring in, in the future, we will be sure to let our customers know.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused by having to pause devices individually.

As others have said, to do this properly requires you to get your own wireless router with that q.o.s/parental control feature or uses the Disney app.

Re: Set up wifi users

@s21slm Do you still have the router you used the Disney Circle app with previously? If so you could try using that router with the Hub in modem mode.
