A WAP in the garage connected directly to the Hub on a Cat6a cable is undoubtedly the best way to extend  wifi connectivity - anywhere. Such as this - in access point mode..

For in house wifi - also consider a good Mesh system with 1GB ports... such as..

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & BT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi) Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's & TP-Link Archer C64 WAP. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

A Wireless Repeater sounds more suitable or even better a network cable and a Wireless Access Point located in the garage.

Thanks So I should connect a Ethernet cable to an access point in garage?

Yes assuming that is a practical thing to do.

Should be possible using a 15m cable .. however will it interfere with the wifi from the hub3 ? I have issues to other appliances as well inc a fire stick and wireless best camera

TBH... consider putting the Hub into modem only mode and using a router like the one in my message above - or the Mesh system - either should clear up all of the issues

Still could connect a WAP in the garage to the new router/mesh should that not sort the wifi issue on its own

Thanks for your help.. I would like to clarify that if I put the router into modem only mode does it disconnect the Ethernet ports .. because . Ive two Ethernet connections to my sons Xbox consoles . Can still use these

When you put VM Hubs into mobile mode... only one ethernet port should then work on the Hub.   And that is the one you use to connect the Hub to your own router.  Thereafter, the extra ethernet ports on your router become active and can be used to connect the Xbox's - and all other equipment - by ethernet cables.  If the router doesn't have enough ports to support all the connections you want to make then you simply get and plug in an "unmanaged" switch (like the one below) to the Router and use its ports for connecting additional devices, WAP's, etc.

I think once the Hub3 is in router mode, only one (of the four) ethernet ports become active. Like me, you've been using both the built-in in Hub3 WiFi and had connected devices direct to the Hub. Once the Hub3 is in router mode, you need to reconnect all devices to the new router and / or unmanaged switch.
