Rubbish wifi speed and connectivity

I have 1gb service which I thought would provide me with best service,  but getting very slow and intermittent connectivity

No local issues but today getting between 1 mb and 10 mb speed

I am also paying for boosters at a cost of £3 per month which I have  never got to work despite spending a lo of time trying to get them to work. That being said if the speed and connectivity are an issue then they won't work

Any advice

Re: Rubbish wifi speed and connectivity

It can be difficult diagnosing problems without some basic information.

How are you connecting Wi-Fi or ethernet cable ?

What is your connection like with a direct connection using a Cat 5E/6 cable between the Hub and a 1Gbs capable Pc/Mac/Chromebook and no other devices connected ?

Have you checked the 'Check Service Status' at the top of the page ?

If nothing is showing try phoning 0800 561 0061, this will tell you of more local issues that may be affecting the area. Be aware that it isn't a manned line.

Go round all the accessible co-ax connections and ensure that they are finger tight.

If everything above is OK we need do some troubleshooting; to start with.

Can you please

Type 192.168.0.1 (192.168.100.1 in Modem mode) into your browser URL bar and press enter.

When the page appears DO NOT LOG IN but click ‘Check Router Status’.

Copy and paste the contents of the Downstream, Upstream and Network Log tabs onto here, if you get a yellow warning click the Post button again.

A Guru will be along soon to decipher the info.

Re: Rubbish wifi speed and connectivity

Always rubbish wifi so why don't you do something about it and get your own wireless router with 1Gb ports or mesh and use the hub in modem mode if you think you can do better.

Re: Rubbish wifi speed and connectivity

When I enter 192.168.0.1 it comes up asking for password and has a next button?

Do I need to do this on a windows device?

Re: Rubbish wifi speed and connectivity

Great idea, why don't I pay out a lot more money than I already have to get a service that was promised

Appreciate any advice but hope you can appreciate where I am coming from
