Router for Gigabit Speed

Recently upgraded from the 350M package to the new 1gigabit package. I want to get a third-party router and put the hub 4.0 into modem mode. I have the hub 4.0 setup in my bedroom and have my ps4 and pc both hardwired. I want a router which helps with ping for gaming reasons and improves on the wifi signal that the hub 4.0 provides. Also I want to organise the cabling as since the router is my bedroom now my gaming setup has a-lot more cables so any tips for organising/cable management would be appreciated.

Thank you

Any mid-high range ASUS or TP-Link router will be fine

Re: Router for Gigabit Speed

Asus AX56 is a good choice.

It has a decent amount of RAM too.

Re: Router for Gigabit Speed

what advantages if any does the Asus ROG GT-AC2900 have over the Asus RT-AX56U. I just want to understand why it's £90 more and it's advertised for gaming purposes as well, will it provide me with better ping, and is port forwarding actually gonna improve online gaming performance.

Re: Router for Gigabit Speed

Also the AX56 is wifi 6 capable, so a bit of future proofing.

I can't bring myself to spend £200 on a router.

Re: Router for Gigabit Speed

How is the experience with your internet since you’ve switched to using the AX56, I’ve had Virgin for a year but this my first time using a non-isp router. Is it much better than using a hub 3.0/4.0?
