Restrict Accesss to Virgin Hub

Very short story. Several of my social media accounts were hacked recently, all occurring on the same day. I got them back and changed the password in short order. After this I changed my admin and network password but noticed my speed was quite slow.

After checking the hub I found devices that I didn't recognize using my internet. I turned off every device with internet/wireless capabilities that I own and the device was still there. After some advice I decided to turn off both 2.4 and 5GHz connection to use wired internet only... Only to find that an hour later that both wireless broadcasts had been switched back on again.

I've read that I can adjust the settings to make my hub access via lan only. My question to the VM community is how?

Re: Restrict Accesss to Virgin Hub

Virgin Media have a WiFi policy that Hubs in Router mode will auto re-enable both 2.4Ghz and 5GHz WiFi.

They will come back on with in hours just as you have found.  Resistance is futile !

Re: Restrict Accesss to Virgin Hub

Just change the passwords on the WiFi SSID/s.

Re: Restrict Accesss to Virgin Hub

Use hub in modem mode and get a better router with 1Gb ports
