Red light on hub, but still getting wi-fi

I've had WiFi and internet access all day, but the hub shows a constant solid red light.

Other users have had this issue and we're advised to try a pinhole reset for 30 second with Ethernet cables removed; https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Networking-and-WiFi/red-light-on-virgin-media-hub/td-p/5074544

I did this and there was no change, still getting WiFi but with a red light on the router. Do I need a new device?

What Hub model is it ?

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & BT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi) Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's & TP-Link Archer C64 WAP. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

A Hub 3.0, it says VMDG505, TG2492LG-VM on the bottom.

I've had it for quite a few years now, never been a problem, not gotten too warm at all in use.
