RCS Partial Service/SYNC Timing Synchronization failure...Internet keeps dropping.

So for the past few weeks and more so past days, I've had problems with my Internet connection dropping off for 30 seconds or less ever 30 minutes or so then coming back again across a few different devices like Desktop PC and Xbox One.

Online gaming via Xbox drops every so often with high packet loss stats although speed tests still come out relatively quick. I've also noticed2 recurring errors in my network log and high errors via 2 channels on my downstream as shown below:

So I gather it's highly likely to be a fault on the line as I've checked all cables are secure, reset multiple times and I'm pretty tech-savvy to know all the standard solutions have been tried.

Any help please?

Re: RCS Partial Service/SYNC Timing Synchronization failure...Internet keeps dropping.

Can you set up a Broadband Quality Monitor (BQM) at thinkbroadband.com - this will give you an insight into what is happening with the signal at the other side of the Hub, it will take a few hours to get any kind of trend showing although you should post the link straight away.

Post a link to your BQM on here.

Instructions for posting BQM Link

Under your BQM graph are two links in red.

Click the lower link (Share Live Graph) then click generate.

Copy the text in the Direct Link box, beware, there may be more text than you can see.

On here click the Link icon (2 links chain to the left of the camera icon)

In the URL box paste the link you copied and in the ‘text to display’ box write My BQM then click OK - you can post the link straight away.

already had one going as much as it will help. Trying to play COD Warzone online then and it was suffering lag spikes and pushing me back and all over. yet speeds are fine and nothing else is using the connection.

Reboot your Hub using this method to see if those large Pre & Post RS Error counts go down to zero or close to.

Switch the Hub off for 5 minutes using the little switch on the rear of the Hub next to the Power Cord.

Re: RCS Partial Service/SYNC Timing Synchronization failure...Internet keeps dropping.

Your >> BQM << is showing problems on the other side of your Hub.

Have you checked the 'Check Service Status' at the top of the page ?

If nothing is showing try phoning 0800 561 0061, this will tell you of more local issues that may be affecting the area. Be aware that it isn't a manned line.

Go round all the accessible co-ax connections and ensure that they are finger tight.

Re: RCS Partial Service/SYNC Timing Synchronization failure...Internet keeps dropping.

Still having issues here VM team. All devices keep dropping of the internet for 10-30 seconds at a time which makes online gaming useless when getting disconnected often. Router log still showing all the same errors and downstream RS errors still high.

Re: RCS Partial Service/SYNC Timing Synchronization failure...Internet keeps dropping.

Hi @easyrider81

Thanks for taking the time to get in touch.

Really sorry to see you've been having problems with your broadband connection.

I've checked from our end and can see there was an SNR outage, but this has now been resolved. To avoid any further delay I have booked you an engineer appointment for Saturday 19th September, between 8am -12pm.

If you wish to reschedule this appointment you should be able to via your online account here.

Please let us know how you get on once our engineer has been or if you have any further issues.

Many thanks,

Hetty
