Power light on router keeps going red

The power light on my router keeps changing from white to amber to red. It’s definitely not overheating. Any clues? Cannot get through to virgin media on the phone - very frustrating as working from home and need reliable WiFi.  WiFi seems to work ok during this time but surely it’s not normal? Thanks

Re: Power light on router keeps going red

What type of router is it?  If in doubt there should be a reference number on the bottom starting something like "VMDG...."

Re: Power light on router keeps going red

Thanks.  This isn't normal, one thing to try, if that doesn't work you'll need a new hub.

Try doing a pinhole reset, using the small hole on the back of the hub, and something like an unfolded paperclip.

If that doesn't help then say so and I'll flag your post for the forum staff to advise on next steps.

Re: Power light on router keeps going red

Hi. I have just tried that a couple of times and no joy. The hub won’t seem to reset fully as I am not asked to input any WiFi passwords into my devices once done - they still remember the WiFi. The light is also still red.

OK, that's flagged for the forum staff.  They're a tad busy at the moment, so response may vary from minutes to a day or two.  Still better than phoning!

Good afternoon @CatjS

Welcome to the forums thank you for taking the time to post.

As our wonderful community has said, we are going to need to send you another hub. I have taken the opportunity to order this for you. It should be with you in the next 5 to 7 business days.

Kind regards,

Zak_M
