Pause devices remotely

Hi. We currently use the Virgin connect app to pause devices from our WiFi before we go to bed. Is there any way to do this remotely, or do we absolutely have to be connected to our home WiFi network?

If the Hub permits remote access to be enabled, remote pausing would be possible via a web browser & the Hub's menu.

But ...

Current mobile phones and computers have MAC Address Randomisation built in.

As fast as you pause a device it can assume a new identity and be free and reconnected.

Thank you. I’m really just trying to control my children’s access to the WiFi when I’m not at home. Is this possible?

Yes, but it is called education.

A very rude awaking is ahead for today's kids that get to work and scroll social media in an office meeting !

A good point, but most devices use the same MAC on the same network (i.e. once you connect to home network it should always report the same MAC). The purpose of it is to minimise the chances of identification across different networks, so I wouldn't expect it to cause any issues in this situation.
