Recently moved to Virgin Broadband from sky. Just to state I did not have any issues with the PS4 losing WiFI signal with sky.
On a regular basis my PS4 loses the WiFi connection. As a online gamer this happens at the worst times.
I am not that technical but have tried the following;
Reset the router - still happens
Reset the PS4 - Still happens
Changed wireless signal to 2.4GHZ and 5GHZ - Still happens
Disconnected other devices while playing - Still happens
Also the PS4 states that the WiFi signal strength is 100% - its in the same room as the router - I would like to avoid using a ether net cable as its on the other side of the room and would require manoeuvring cables around a fire place and door.
I have run a test on the router and it says the PS4 is to far away - seems strange when the PS4 states 100% WiFi signal.
Any suggestions would be great. As you can imagine we are all spending a lot more time at home so it is quite frustrating when it happens.
Solutions are to cable to the router or install a mesh system or install a better router

As Gary says... you could do what my lad has done in his upstairs room - he got a pair of Solwise powerline adapters and one connects to the Hub and the other to his Gaming PC and consoles by short Cat6 cables. He has never complained once in 3 years. Your 2 electrical circuits do need to be contiguous though.

My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & BT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired 2 WiFi,) SH2 in modem mode with Airport Extreme Router. On VIVID200, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.
I disabled the 5Ghz Frequency - Keep it on 2.4Ghz permanently.
I also disabled the "Smart WiFi" Setting found in the wireless section of the hub. I figured that this setting was trying to change the frequency automatically and when doing so the PS4 would briefly lose connecting to the WiFi hub.
It has not dropped out in over 24 hours.
Happy with the results of the changes I made so far and no cables needed 🙂
This is happening too me too. Nearly every game I'm in I'm losing connection. Getting too the point now where I'm not able too join any games online. Even when I'm watching something on netflix or Amazon prime I'm losing connection and too the re connect onlytonly do the same process multiple times just too finish what I was watching.
