Obtaining IP address

I have recently purchased a second hand smart phone. When going into the WI Fi it immediately recognises my virgin connection . I enter the password/code which it accepts then it constantly comes up with the message Obtaining IP address. Then nothing happens. What do I need to do to receive the Wi Fi on my phone through the virgin hub. please.

Re: Obtaining IP address

Hi MagicMoments,

Can you advise us what kind of smart phone you've purchased?

If you could tell us when this was bought from (including country, if this was purchased online) that would be helpful

Kindest regards

Re: Obtaining IP address

I purchased a second hand Motorola Moto G second generation smartphone. It was on E Bay and was unlocked from any network The seller had received excellent feedback. He said he had no trouble connecting the phone to the internet and could not understand why it had recognised my Virgin connection and accepted the code but then came up with the IP address scenario. I trust this will enable you to help me further..

Re: Obtaining IP address

Can you try separating the WiFi SSID signals on your Hub into separate 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz and see if you connect to each one separately? Try renaming each one respectively.

Please see this link for instructions on how to access your Hub's page to access the advanced WiFi settings page.

Also are any other devices able to connect to your Hub or are they experiencing the same issues?

Thanks,

Lisa

Re: Obtaining IP address

Have you tried to do what Lisa_CC suggested by separating the WiFi SSID signals on your Hub into separate 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz?
