Not allowed to opt out of Wi-Fi hotspot.

adada.pngI've run into the same ''error'' as countless others, Virgin Media won't let me opt out of their hidden virus Wi-Fi hotspot.

None of the ''solutions'' suggested in other threads works and you need to get a moderator to disable it for you, probably on purpose to make it hard for people to opt out.

So I need a moderator to disable Wi-Fi hotspot on my account.

Other alternative would be to contact an ombudsman, take it to court, get a different internet provider, this is ridiculous, I can't play any multiplayer games because the input lag is terrible.

"hidden virus Wi-Fi"

HAHA making up words doesn't help.
The guest wifi won't effect your connection.

It's hidden with malign intentions and I want to disable it.

I've read it fixed the issues for some but I'm unable to check for myself.

Re: Not allowed to opt out of Wi-Fi hotspot.

The WiFi hotspot makes NO DIFFERENCE WHATEVER to your own connection. It uses an entirely separate path back to Virgin.

Any suggestion that it is a malign influence is about as accurate as the nanochips in the vaccine and the chemicals in condensation trails.

It uses my electricity and won't allow me to disable it, it's like a cancer.

If it was any good, they wouldn't have to hide it and prevent you from disabling it.

Use modem mode.

One could say if VM wanted this to happen why not have a add on device that is a AP and VPN people would hotspot by this AP and VPN out to the hub out to the network server for security.

Won't that disable wifi entirely? I have a wifi extender that I keep phones and stuff on and then a powerline extender so I can have ethernet to my gaming pc without dragging a cable through the entire house.

It's not even hidden. You can see it on any of your devices. It is called VM and some numbers.

Stop reading conspiracy theories. They are not good for your wellbeing.

Re: Not allowed to opt out of Wi-Fi hotspot.

VM and some numbers was the name of the SSID of the router when we first got it, why are you even here commenting, defending a broken feature, you don't even know what you are talking about and not being helpful.
