New Wi-Fin plus not seamless

I’ve now got two of the mesh wifi devices connected at home (the new Virgin ones).

When I move from one room to another on a call, it causes disruption to the connection before handling transmission to one of the other devices.

This surely isn’t true mesh wifi then?

has anyone had a similar experience or can anyone categorically say they’ve done something similar and not had a disruption?

Thanks in advance.

Re: New Wi-Fin plus not seamless

Hi @Rob1601

Thanks for taking the time to post on our forums with this issue.

I'm sorry that you're having these issues and the connection should be working seamlessly when the handover happens.

I have been able to locate your account and cannot see anything that would be causing these issues. Have you rebooted your hub recently?

Regards,

Steven_L

Re: New Wi-Fin plus not seamless

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

I did a full reboot when I received the second device.

I’m still getting a drop out when moving between rooms on VOIP or other real time streaming activity.

I was intrigued as to whether this was just the design of the devices or whether it should be seamless.

Thanks

Re: New Wi-Fin plus not seamless

The connection should be seamless @Rob1601.

Would you be able to reset the WiFi pods and re-add them to your network as the issues you described shouldn't be happening.

Regards

Re: New Wi-Fin plus not seamless

Thanks,

what is the best way to reset them? Just a simple off and on? Believe they are already paired on arrival.

Re: New Wi-Fi plus not seamless

Thanks for your reply.

I’m unfortunately all to familiar with that page as I’ve tried to address the issues. I can concerns all settings match and are within 10 feet of the hub 4.

Thanks,

Rob

Re: New Wi-Fi plus not seamless

Hello there @Rob1601

Thanks for popping back - I have located your account from your forum information and on second glance, the new Pods had not actually been activated. The self-installation order was still open and was not closed automatically as it should have done.

Once the order is closed, this will then activate the new Pods for you. I have done this now for you and they should be working correctly within around 30 minutes. Please reboot your Hub and Pods and let us know of any developments.

If you are still having issues, we'll now be able to do more diagnostics now the order has been closed.

Keep us posted

Re: New Wi-Fi plus not seamless

The order for the Pods had not been closed and as such not activated fully

How's things looking since rebooting both the Hub and Pods?
