New Hub 3 constant red light

I had a Hub 3 arrive today to replace a Hub 1 and I have it all up and running in modem mode but the light indicator is solid red and not magenta/purple as it should be for modem mode. I have looked at it from all angles and it is definitely a solid red.

The internet both wired and wirelessly are all working fine and the device is not hot to the touch (it is barely warm) it is making no sounds of any kind. I will try a rest later on this evening however having done a search on the forum I can see this seems like a common occurrence and a rest is unlikely help. 

Is this something that I should persist in trying to fix?
