i just used that and it gave me a wrong answer.
the sites make a guess.

the site even states at the top "This site actively determines the DNS servers that your computer uses by observing how your DNS requests are processed on the internet."

Re: Netflix - "You seem to be using an unblocker or proxy"

I tried Cloudflare, Google, OpenDNS and VM DNS and it got them all correct. The IPs were different to the memorable ones advertised (eg. 74.125.47.133 instead of 8.8.8.8) but it explains why that happens when you click more info about your results.

Re: Netflix - "You seem to be using an unblocker or proxy"

Of course it gets them all correct, your device (PC, tablet, phone) is making a series of recursive lookups to various dns servers for a particular host name. Each time it does so your device knows the addresses of the dns servers it has used to resolve the name. This website just collates that information from your own machine and gives it back to you in a nice readable format.

But this is absolutely nothing to do with the original issue, as others have already said, if I were to try to access the site say, www.bbc.co.uk, my tablet will do all the dns lookups, eventually get an IP address for the site in question and send a webpage request there. The point is that there is no way that the BBC can possibly know which dns servers I used to look up their address (or even if I used a dns server at all) as the web request to their server simply doesn't contain that information, why should it?

Media companies such as Netflix maintain lists of IP addresses which 'should' be associated with specific countries or regions as well as lists of known VPN tunnel endpoints. So if they see a connection attempt coming from an IP address apparently located somewhere which isn't licensed to view that content or is coming from an address which is in a valid region but which is also on their list of VPN endpoints then they assume that this is an attempt to bypass the geo-location block and act accordingly.

Now it's not uncommon for mistakes to creep into the lists and addresses get wrongly assigned as being in a particular region - there's nothing much you can do other than complain to the media company themselves and try to pursued them that they've got it wrong - in this case it's 100% Netflix's issue to sort out.

Re: Netflix - "You seem to be using an unblocker or proxy"

Alright so what you guys said did make sense, the server itself receiving the requests just wouldn't know the route they took to get there. Makes sense. So what's stopping Netflix from accessing the DNS cache like the website seems to be doing? Or its app from doing the same thing? Sure they wouldn't know from the requests themselves, but couldn't they get this information elsewhere, like from the app/browser itself? Or is there some degree of separation that would stop it from accessing this information?

I guess nothing can be done to fix this issue then, given what the OP wrote.

Re: Netflix - "You seem to be using an unblocker or proxy"

the app may well be able to check but a browser shouldn't be able to check. If your leaking your DNS server to websites i'd be more worried about your security 🙂

Re: Netflix - "You seem to be using an unblocker or proxy"

Thanks to everyone for your responses, very much appreciated.    I've now cancelled my Netflix subscription as nothing I did would rectify it.   They either want my money or they don't, seriously not worth the hassle.
