Netatmo Security cameras

Hello

I am considering moving to Virgin broadband as it has just been installed on my road. I have a question about VPN tunnels that my Netatmo security cameras use. In the past bog standard VDSL routers from ISP's have just worked, BT  & Plusnet etc, but I replaced one of these with a Draytek Vigor2762 but that only supports 2 VPN tunnels, I have 8 cameras so it didn't work, Apparently each camera sets up its own VPN tunnel. My question is will the supplied Virgin router support multiple VPN tunnels, I don't want to find out after it is newly installed. I currently use a TP LInk Archer VR2800 and all is good.

Thanks

Use your TP LInk Archer VR2800 with its WAN port set to router mode and use hub in modem mode

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding this, but do you actually need to set up separate VPN tunnels on the Vigor modem for each camera?  Is that what you did with the VDSL modem?

If the cameras are each creating their own VPN tunnel that passed though the bog standard VDSL modem, they should be able to pass through any other modem.

Hi Thanks for the swift replies, I thought about using my TP-LInk as a router, I think that means I can keep my static IP addresses alone, I use 192.168.1.xxx, range. I am sure I have read that the Virgin Hub is fixed to 192.168.0.xxx range only.

@jpeg1 I didn't set up separate vpn tunnels, Netatmo support told me that the way the cameras talk to their servers is via separate tunnels and the Vigor2762 only has the ability for two, and I have 8 cameras. They suggested a less "fancy" router/modem as they tend to just work, and that is what I found. I must admit it is at the limit of my knowledge

The Vigor has a facility to set up VPNs internally, but you don't need to use them for your purpose.  Just use it as a normal router (at 198.168.1.0 as you need it) and your camera app will set up the cameras in the same way they did before.  The Vigor will be quite transparent to any number of VPNs passing through it.
