Nervous after upgrading to Gig1 and Hub 4

Hi,

The wifi in my house has never been great, for whatever reasons, and since COVID and everyone now working/studying from home I thought upgrading to Gig1 and the Hub 4 might be a good idea to see if it improves. So on impulse i upgraded last week, and the Hub due this week sometime.

In retrospect I've now read a number of posts that the Hub 4 is worse for wifi than the Hub 3?

What are peoples experience?

I'm nervous because we work from home and can't afford any problems that might affect our ability to work.

Thanks.

Steve.

Re: Nervous after upgrading to Gig1 and Hub 4

upgrading the speed won't change the WIFI performance.
you need to investigate and understand why the WIF performance might be poor in your unique circumstances.

also, don't confuse WIFI with internet.

Yep, understand that. The upgrade to Gig1 wasn't the primary driver, I was hoping a better Hub (the v4 over the v3) would have better wifi performance/coverage.

if you want better wifi performance/coverage then you should really invest in your own equipment.

Honestly most modem/routers that have built in wifi are pretty poor. It's much better to just get a 3rd party access point and disable wifi on the supplied kit.

Yeah, I think I tried that a few years back with a TP-LINK Archer C9 AC1900 but still didn't see much of an improvement, so gave up on that idea.
