I have smart TV, under floor heating, central heating ,smart lights, 2 Ethernet outlets etc all connected to the virgin hub and some via a 8 port switch.
what’s the suggestion please to get all onto the deco m5 WiFi please???

Re: Mesh WiFi setup

Put the hub into modem mode with the first deco disc connected to the hub. You’ll need to connect the switch to the deco as well and not the hub.

Re: Mesh WiFi setup

Disconnect all cables from your new router (Mesh first unit) and unplug it. Put the VM Hub into modem mode (see VM website for details) and wait for the base light to turn magenta. Once it’s in modem mode, the VM hub must then be powered off. Then, set up your own router with the WAN port set to be in DHCP mode, it may be pre-set that way anyway. Make sure it’s fully initialised (leave 5 min) and then put in the WAN cable to the VM hub. Now power up the VM hub and you should get a connection.

Then follow the TP-Link App to connect the other units - be patient they can take a minute or so to make the connection

This order only needs to be done the first time you connect your own router to the VM hub.
