Mac filtering problems

Hi, can anyone advise or help me? I'm trying to set up time WiFi controls on my son's desktop. When I put the mac filtering on, it cuts him off completely.

Re: Mac filtering problems

Someone else may contradict me but I think the only effective way to do that is to use your own wireless router that provides that functionality in an easy to use interface. I used my Apple AE router to control both of my teens access times a few years ago - very effectively.

Re: Mac filtering problems

AFAIK the time based MAC filtering on the Hub 3 is still broken.   The VM Connect app allows you to manually pause Internet access on devices.

As @jbrennand has said, the best option is get your own router and put the Hub 3 into modem mode:

I have never used the parental controls in my Netgear router (no kids) but I believe Netgear use Circle with Disney on many of their routers, which appears to have options to set time limits and restrict access at certain times.

A quick Google search bring up these lists of best parental control routers:

Re: Mac filtering problems

Hi Gg09,

Thanks for your first post and welcome to our forums page.

Unfortunately we don't have an option for a timer to turn the WiFi on and off, however, we do have our 'Connect' app, which has the functionality to be able to pause and unpause devices connected to your WiFi. All you need to do is download this onto your device, log in once using your online account details and you will be able to use this function.

Thanks
