MAC Spoofing IP Issue

Hi everyone, I need some help as i'm struggling to figure this one out..

I have switched SH3 into modem mode, attached Archer C7 into LAN4 into WAN port and it does connect normally and gets a fresh IP with the standard setup...great!

However, I would love to keep the static sticky IP I have had for the last few years, if I clone my WAN MAC (from SH3) in the C7 this DOES receive the ack from VM and assign the old/correct IP however I cannot get any traffic in or out when setup like this yet using default MAC this works fine on all fronts.

Any ideas? As above would be ideal to keep the current IP especially working from home with work VPNs/Whitelisting it would just save me a couple of hours tomorrow getting it all updated at work.

Any help would be really appreciated!

Re: MAC Spoofing IP Issue

Ah that makes sense thank you, do you know if there might be a way to ask VM to assign the old IP from the old MAC to the new default either via tech support or forum staff or do you think im stuck?

Re: MAC Spoofing IP Issue

IP addresses can't be swapped/re-assigned or changed.
the IP you have now is the one you need to work with.
