I have been having a lot of issues now for 3/4 months which before then never happened.
My main issue is that I am getting serious loss and latency every day, all different times of the day, the net will be good for 2-4 hours then I get 30-1 hour of loss and latency, This means work Voip calls are off the cards and so is any gaming on downtime, rubberbanding everywhere.
I have spoken to Virgin and got the normal restart router etc 3 times, then I had a guy come out to check the lines, showed him my findings he could only check the strength of the signal, and today I have a replacement SuperHub3 arrived which I have swapped out. I have tested in router mode as I run a Meraki Stack behind in modem mode and even on just virgin equipment I still get the same issues.
I've checked with friends on Virgin and their first hope is their router and then the local exchange, mine seems to hit this 10.46.188.1 address which sounds like a CMTS, the engineer agreed that didn't seem right.
Has anyone else had this, if so any ideas, thought I would try here before going back to them for the final time! Gaming aside I get latency and ping up to 200ms and turn into a robot on work calls even to the point I drop out the call, and yes I have turned off all other devices on the network, checked for tasks or downloads which may have been runnings, I bypassed directly to my pc without my Meraki when the router is in router mode and I still hit this IP on the first hop and still get the crazy loss and latency.
Also when the loss isn't there I still hit this 10. address so it's not just when the connection is bad.
Can you post some stats. Go to 192.168.0.1 (router mode) or 192.168.100.1 (modem mode), do not log in, click on the link "Check Router Status". Copy and paste the Downstream, Upstream and Network Logs. Mask any public IP address.
I'm sorry to hear of the issues you've been having with your services.
Upon checking things from this side, I'm unable to find any reason as to why you are experiencing these issues. All your hub specs are within the correct parameters and nothing appears out of the ordinary from here.
Can you please confirm if you are still affected by these issues or if they have improved since posting?
There is certainly a problem as there is no way that it should take that long to get to the core router, after all it's not a million miles from the CMTS. Here's my trace route.
