Keep having to factory reset modem every month

Hi there, 

I have a white virgin media modem and have had it for around 4 years now. In the last 6 month I keep losing Internet. Initially I thought it was a virgin media outage but I realised my WiFi stops working too. The only way to get it working is to factory reset the modem everytime. Normally this will last a month and I have to do it again. This time it only lasts an hour.

I have tried leaving the whole thing powered off for a day but this does not make a difference. Please can you assist? Is my modem going faulty? 

Normally I wouldn't mind but I have lots of settings in the modem and it's a pain having to reinsert all the port forwards and setting up all the custom dhcp settings.
