Internet in Watford (wd24) keeps going down

For the last few months the internet in our area keeps going down.

Its got so bad that we have setup a WhatsApp chat group to discuss this as allot of us work from home and require a stable broadband connection.

 

We are all considering cancelling our broadband and going with BT or sky or an alternative.

 

What exactly is going on and why does our service keep dropping in and out?

Hi @Shugs786 thanks for your post here in the Community, although we're sorry to hear of the concerns you've raised here.

We've ran some checks and there doesn't seem to be any signs of issues on the line, and your Hub is running within all the specified levels.

Can you advise please if things have stabilised since your post on Saturday?

It is best to call 0800 561 0061 to find out if there is a service issue in your street.

VM's WIreless Optimization / Smart Wi-Fi / Wi-Fi Max and Auto Channel selection are responsible for many connectivity & stability issue. Disabling all of these and disabling Wi-Fi modes A + B/G can be a big help. Try with 2.4Ghz manually set to channels 1 or 6 or 11 and 5GHz manually set to channels 36 or 44. Not having the Hub hop around the channels when you are streaming the tennis on might just be what is needed.
