Intermittent internet cutting out and recently Can't access specific website

Recently my modem and router has been cutting out and reconnecting the internet (past few days) - but after turning it off an on this morning it started working again.

I have been having some connection latency spikes - past few days:

My Broadband Ping - Ric Gig1 - Sept 2020

however, just recently (today)

i am unable to connect to https://20i.com or https://www.20i.com

I can access these from my 4g on Three network and from my work internet - but not today on my virgin

i have done a ping and tracert and it looks like there are problems along the isp route

Please can you look into both issues for me -

I need reliability.

Thanks

Ric

Re: Intermittent internet cutting out and recently Can't access specific website

Are these issues only evident on wifi connections or do you see them at the same times on devices connected on ethernet cables? If you don't know, can you check to help diagnose whether it is just a wifi issue or it could be network connection related?

And what are the various Hub lights showing/doing when this happens?

No issues with this traceroute - you're getting to the destination.. the "*** Request timed out." messages don't mean anything of significance..

what happens when you try to connect to the site in a web browser?

Re: Intermittent internet cutting out and recently Can't access specific website

This site can’t be reached

20i.com took too long to respond.

Try:

  • Checking the connection
  • Checking the proxy and the firewall
  • Running Windows Network Diagnostics
ERR_TIMED_OUT

well, your ping and traceroute show that there's no routing issue between you and the destination... it's possible that some sort of web application firewall / 3rd party blocklist is stopping you from accessing the site over https -  have you contacted the third party to see if they have some sort of blocklist in place, and whether your IP address features in that blocklist?

Re: Intermittent internet cutting out and recently Can't access specific website

reading some recent comments on diff similar issues, i upgraded firmware of my asus ax-11000 router first (im on beta firmware though),  i unplugged my router and virgin router in modem mode for about 30/40 mins and re plugged in (end of last week), assigning me a new ip address and so far i dont seem to have had any cut outs since -  and i checked this morning and can access 20i.com

so am monitoring it - speed it more consistent too.
