Intermittent Wifi on iPad iOS 14

My iPad frequently drops internet connection. I upgraded to iOS 14 in the hope it would fix the problem but it hasn't. Now I get a message saying weak security and the Wifi connection continues to be intermittent.

My iPad is a new 2020 model, although I have a 2014 iPad Air and that connects to Wifi no problem, as does my android phone. I have a desktop iMac which is wired to the router and that holds a connection also, if a little slow at times..

I called Apple who said my current WPA2 is insecure. They told me to I seek advice from Virgin to configure the router to WPA3. Can someone advise me how to do this?

My router is a Superhub 1. Would upgrading the router would improve things?

None of the virgin hubs support WPA3.

Theres a sticky at the top of the forum on how to change your security settings.
