Intelligent WiFi issues?

Hi,

Having an issue with some wireless devices saying they are connected but have no internet access whilst having a mostly full signal. No issues with weird connections. Could be a coincidence but this issue has arisen at the same time I received an email confirming my WiFi has been upgraded to intelligent WiFi...

I have used the online test and no issues where found, I have also factory reset the router but this made no difference. Resetting the router send to work for a short period (mins, <1hr) then repeats.

Could it be my hub is faulty?

Thanks for reading this,

Antony

Most likely bad firmware with bugs that VM just push out without testing or did not listen to feed bad by tests.

luckily the modem mode code works mostly ok so you can get your own router with 1Gb ports.

Re: Intelligent WiFi issues?

If the devices have a strong wifi signal but no internet connection, then a distinctly possible cause is a faulty broadband connection.  Connect to the hub by clicking on this link http://192.168.0.1/  That should pull up the log in page for the hub.  But don't log in, just click on the link "Check router status"  That'll bring up a window with five tabs.  Open the Downstream tab.  Select all the text (Ctrl-A if using a keyboard), copy it (Ctrl-C), then paste it (Ctrl-V) into a reply here as text, not screenshots.  Post that, do the same for the Upstream and Network log.  You'll get an error message when you post the Network log, just click on "post" a second time.  Then we can check for any obvious problems with power, noise or error counts.

Re: Intelligent WiFi issues?

The OP said no issues with weird connections (presume they mean wired) so presumably the internet connection to the hub is OK....

They did say that, but it doesn't do any harm to check, does it?  I've previously come across users reporting wifi-only problems that turn out to be broadband issues that affect ethernet as well, but simply haven't been observed.  If the hub status is good, then it gives a whole lot more confidence should we move on to a stage where we start recommending that they have to consider splashing a hundred quid on a router or mesh system.

Re: Intelligent WiFi issues?

I'm pretty sure that my previous 2.4GHz and 5GHz APs were separately listed but now are no longer - could this be the issue, VM Intelligent WiFi has merged these together and is trying (unsuccessfully) to manage the frequencies for me?
