Hub4 connecting to 2.4GHz device

Hi, I have a new Smart Thermostat that will only connect to 2.4GHZ wifi frequency but note the Virgin Hub 4 automatically uses both 2.4GHz and 5GHz so will the smart thermostat work?

Can I change settings on Hub4 to force the connection to 2.4GHz and if I do that will it effect the coverage of the wifi in home. We are also using a virgin intelligent booster pod.

The smart wifi thermostat is Meross MTS200.

Any help appreciated. Thank you

It should not matter that the Hub is transmitting on both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands.

But ! Try disabling the 5GHz WiFi on the Hub for a period long enough to get the 2.4Ghz IoT connected.

If this does not work, using a mobile phone + a WiFi Analyser app, check to see if the Hub's 2.4Ghz WiFi SSID service is broadcasting.

For info ...

2.4Ghz WiFi covers channels 1 to 13

5Ghz WiFi covers channels 36 and above
