Hub3 DHCP

My Hub 3 has DHCP  for my V6 box preset by myself to 192.168.0.16

When my V6 box powers up, it goes through "Awaiting DHCP"

Then says the address is 192.168.10.108

And therefore does not connect to the other services.....

Is this a problem with the Hub OR the V6 box ????

Thanks

AndyH

Re: Hub3 DHCP

Did you use a Reserved DHCP IP, or did you just set a static IP?

Re: Hub3 DHCP

I see no reason why any TV box should have a static IP address, so put it back to factory setting and it will get its IP address assigned dynamically.

Re: Hub3 DHCP

I gave it a reserved address so that it would get a valid one instead of 192,168,10,108 , which is what the DHCP was giving it......Hub 3 is just giving out duff addresses........

Re: Hub3 DHCP

Why do you think the hub is giving out wrong addresses?

Re: Hub3 DHCP

Are you sure you set the DHCP scope to 192.168.0.xxx? If you have next move would be a full 60 second pinhole reset on the Hub. Do not reboot it, just let it do it’s own thing.

It’s either this, and you’re picking up dhcp leases from a neighbours device, or you have another device acting as a dhcp server on your network.

Re: Hub3 DHCP

I had an idea...

Since I could not log into the Hub using 192.168.0.1

I tried 192.168.10.1

This brought up the login page for an access point in my garden....

Turning this OFF and rebooting the Hub sorted the problem with DHCP.

The external access point was a locating the address's. ....

Thanks all
