Re: Hub settings with switch

I know this is probably a stupid question.

I am currently on virgins “up to 100mb” speed range and when running a speed test from my phone I do get 100mb so would there be any real benefit to the router you mention?

Re: Hub settings with switch

The Hub 3 already is a Gigabit Router, albeit a "built to a price one"... If you are happy with the wifi performance, just buy yourself a decent unmanaged switch for your ethernet cabled kit. You will not max out the Hub 3 with the 100mb package.

Re: Hub settings with switch

Should be fine. I've a mix of Netgear and TP-Link switches and don't have any problems with either.

Re: Hub settings with switch

Those are the TP-Links I have around the house. Ideal bits of kit for simply adding more gig ports.

Re: Hub settings with switch

The TP-Link TL-SG1005D will provide you with five LAN ports. I don't see the point of this when for £14-£17 you can get the 8-port TP-LINK TL-SG1008D.

Re: Hub settings with switch

Cheers, I thought I would order the 5 port so it would take up less space but checking the measurements the 8 port is still much smaller then the S8000 that I currently have so will order the 8 port instead

Re: Hub settings with switch

Has all been running perfectly. Picture quality on UHD streaming better then ever.

Then this evening internet stops completely. Turn hub off/on, around 20 seconds into to restart every light flashes red on the hub for around 2seconds, then back to green, then continues to restart.

stays on okay for a while, then same thing happens?

i don’t remember then hub ever flashing red lights on boot up?
