Hub and Tivo in different rooms

Hi Guys, i've got Virgin in my house and i have 2 wall boxes that are identical in two different rooms...currently i have my hub and my Tivo box connected to just one of these boxes via the cabling set that came with it...an isolator cable and a splitter.

What i want to do is separate them...have my hub connected to the wall box in my study and the tivo/TV box in my living room.

do i need to buy a new cable set and just have one side attached (and where can i buy one) or is it possible to buy separate cables and not use the 'splitter part)?

Re: Hub and Tivo in different rooms

I think a lot will depend on what the cables are connected to -

Generally speaking there is one cable into a house and then that can be split by VM into 2 sockets if needed.

try removing the splitter and use the two cables that come from the splitter to connect to the 2 sockets - see if they both work!

Re: Hub and Tivo in different rooms

Thanks for the reply. yes i think this is the case i have a box at the front where the cable comes from the street cabinet and then 2 boxes in doors. both of these only have once coax connector that the isolator cable connects to...then there is a splitter then white wires that have labels on (hub etc).

so i guess i just need to understand how i can get another one of these full cable sets?

any ideas?

VM's co-ax is specialist grade, to shield against external RF interference that uses the same frequency as VM.

It sounds like you're going to need a non-fault tech visit to supply/install internal cabling - you can arrange this through the normal faults route at a fixed cost of £99

No I dont need internal Cabling...i just need the cable set that goes from the box on the wall to the hub and the TV box.

it was a self install kit you just plug it in

Please can you take a picture of connections you need the cable to and from? Then post the picture on this thread?
