Thinking of putting hub 5 on a UPS so to determine which UPS I need to know how much power the hub 5 uses. Anywhere I can find this out ?

Check the label on the Hub 5's power supply.

Try some of the general figures below

which should be suitable to get a general idea for your purpose.

From the forum some Hub 3 results

My own results for a BT Smart Hub 2 gave a continuous average/equivalent of 8W across a 24 hour period.

If you invest in a plug-in energy monitor (approx £15-ish) you can make your own representative measurements for any devices you want to put on the UPS.

It’s all well and good having a UPS for your home, but the VM cabinets do not have UPS so if there is a local power problem you will still be without internet and phone is it’s connected to the hub.

12vdc - 3A (or 36 watts) are the PSUs output figures to the Hub.

Find the main A/C input power ( wattage ), this is what one would be supplying from a typical UPS.

If yours is an RFoG area the PSU for the ONU also needs to be powered by the UPS
