Hub 5 5GHz nothing will connect to it

I set my new Hub5 up yesterday and have disabled the 5GHz signal because nothing will connect to it no matter what I've tried - even when I stand a couple of feet away from the hub.

All is fine with the 2.4 Ghz but it seems a shame not to be able to use the faster signal.

When I try to connect either my Samsung S21 or my iPad Pro (2021) the message comes back saying that it cannot connect to it. It gives the same error if I deliberately put the wrong password in. I am definitely typing in the correct password when it fails to connect!

I've split the 2.4 and 5 Ghz signals and given them different names and passwords.

What am I doing wrong?

Re: Hub 5 5GHz nothing will connect to it

The Hub 5 has severe issues with its WiFi.

Modifying the SSIDs can be enough to cause one or both bands to fail to accept connections.

Re: Hub 5 5GHz nothing will connect to it

I had another go at fixing this today and it looks like I’ve solved it.

I disabled the auto channel selection option for the 5Ghz and set a channel myself and it now connects fine and I have speeds in the 700s for both devices.

I thought I’d update this thread to let others know my solution if they have the same issue.
