Hub 3 has solid red power light

Hi,

My Hub 3 has a solid red power light.  It is not in modem mode.

It's not hot and is in an open area with nothing blocking the vents (and has been since I first had it).

Diagnostic test says the Hub temperature is normal and reports no other issues.

I have tried switching off the power for 45 mins to ensure the Hub is 'cold' then restarting but after boot up the power light is solid red again.

Wireless and ethernet connectivity are fine at the moment.

I've had the Hub for a few years now so could simply be on it's last legs.

Any help much appreciated.

Clearly it isn't working as there's no properly functioning status LED.  I've flagged it for the forum staff to advise

Hi,

As I said, yes ethernet and wireless connectivity are both fine at the moment.

All the advice I've read says not to ignore this though.

Certainly not.  If there's no outward sign of overheating then it still needs replacing, but it's probably OK to keep using it in the meanwhile, but I wouldn't leave it on overnight or if you're out of the house for extended periods. 

Forum staff will respond in due course, but they're a tad stretched at the moment.  But probably still as quick to get you a replacement as if you endure the misery of trying to telephone it in (not to mention, as it's "off-script", there's a chance the agent will tell you that it's fine, and nothing needs to be done).

I did try calling but couldn't stand the hold music beyond 15 minutes, lol!
