Hub 3.0 settings password incorrect

I'm trying to access the settings page for my hub 3.0. I've done this previously with no issue but now it's telling me the same password I've used plenty of times (the one on the bottom of the hub) is incorrect. I've tried the reset and wait 60 seconds trick to no avail. A few days ago, we lost internet in the house for an entire day, I tried multiple resets before giving up. The following morning, I reset and that seemed to fix it but since then it's locked my out of settings.

I don't know if it's just because the hub is old, previously I had connection issues and when I called virgin, they told me the connection looked fine. This is despite the fact we had zero internet, wired or not.

Re: Hub 3.0 settings password incorrect

Hi @gfaekeller

Are you certain you are using the Settings password, and not the Wifi password?

Also when factory resetting the hub remove all ethernet cables from the hub, and keep the reset button pushed in for a timed 60 seconds, then leave the hub alone for 6 or 7 minutes whilst it settles down

Re: Hub 3.0 settings password incorrect

Yes, I'm sure I'm using the correct password. It's the same 8 digit number I've used many times before, and the same number that's on the bottom of the box in the location you pointed to.

I've tried as you suggested (removing all the cables when performing the reset) and it's still locked me out of the settings page.

Re: Hub 3.0 settings password incorrect

Unfortunately if you can't get into the Hub with the factory set password, there is nothing you can do.

A VM Mod should pick this up in a day or two to discuss.

Re: Hub 3.0 settings password incorrect

Hello gfaekeller

Sorry to hear of the issues experienced accessing the settings for you Hub, we appreciate you taking the time to raise this via the forums and welcome to the community.

In your post you mentioned you have reset the Hub and this has made no difference, this should have restored the Hub to its original factory settings meaning the settings password on the base of the Hub should be correct.

What does it advise when you try the password? Is it the same one every device and browser?

Rob
