How to open a port on Virgin Media Hub 6 (port forwarding)

How do I open a port on my Virgin Media Hub 6? I have tried the TCP/UDP settings both inbound and outbound in the IP and Port Filtering section in the Hub settings, yet the port I need open remains closed upon a port scan. I need to be 'connectable'. Please help. I need instructions.

We just got this new hub from Virgin. I'd like to know how to open ports on it. Surely that instruction would be the same with the same equipment anywhere.

Are you based in Ireland?

I believe they use IPV6 so it would be interesting to see what IP address you are trying to use to check if the port is open!

It appears you shouldn't have access to the port forwarding options at all when on IPV6.

Hi @larkapal 

VM don't have a hub 6. The latest version is the hub 5 which supports WiFi6

Some ports are blocked - see the Virgin Media's Blocked Internet Ports section on the following page
