How do I order a Wi-Fi booster? I was told one would be supplied as part of my installation but it wasn’t. I cannot get device connected to hub via Virgin Media Connect.

Sorry to see you are having problems ordering the wifi pods. 

They are free if you are on the Gig1 package, or Ultimate Oomph, or on a Volt bundle, however if you are on any other package then they are £8  a month.

I hope the following helps. You need to use the Connect app to perform the Home Scan in the area where the signal is low(est)

The info below is a copy paste of the steps provided by @John_GS  (Forum Team) in how to order them when using the Connect app.

  • Tap Start the scan 
  • Then Start the scan again 
  • While connect to WiFi, Tap I’m ready 
  • Wait 2 mintues for Scan 
  • Scan complete, Tap continue 
  • Tap Add a room, Tap the room you're in 
  • Start the Scan (do this in every room) 
  • Scan complete 
  • Tap Optimise WiFi now if an option 
  • If so, Tap Optimise 
  • Optimisation complete, Tap Rescan room,  Tap Start Scan 
  • Tap Order a WiFi Booster if an option

If that doesn't work you can call  0800 064 3850 to order the first one

I had a Virgin technician unsuccessfully trying to fix my Hub3 on Tuesday.  I asked him about  those he said they're  no good at all . He didn't explain why . Your better to buy an Orbi Mesh setup . I bought  the Orbi Mesh . They're  very  expensive  but I now have a massive range than  Virgins could never   reach  . You'll  get an  Orbi router  with at least 2 to 3 satellite  pods . Im glad I bought  one . It's  just my Hub 3 that always  faults though.

The Orbis are very high spec and price - there are much cheaper Mesh systems that wil be perfectly fine for most users

Look at the TP-Link Deco 3-pack range and especially the  --  S4, M4, M5, XC20.


I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & BT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi) Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's & TP-Link Archer C64 WAP. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.
