How can I have a static IP & DNS from Virgin Media?

I'd like to run a modest server for a family "zoom" on my laptops here.

Is my understanding correct that it can be done for a business account? Can it also be done for a normal account? Is there a way to move to that type of account? What would the money difference be (I am currently an M350 customer, net only).

What about being given an IPv6? I think they are cheaper?

Thank you very much

Start with the easy one - VM do not cater for IPv6.

Your Public IP is as good as static, it changes very infrequently.

You can set the DNS.

That is great thanks:) Just need to find any DNS that would record me.

Found the IP fw rules on the router, it is just great.:)))

no more cloud costs for my tiny servers:))

Re: How can I have a static IP & DNS from Virgin Media?

Hello

One service you can use to give your system a domain name would be something like noip which is a free service, and if you place their tool on a computer it will track if the IP address changes, I myself use this service as it makes it easier than having to remember the IP address.
