Home WiFi Network Has a Few Problems

Been an odd few days, couple or so random drops of the connection, min latency creeping up, hub power levels especially on the upstream all over, they were about 3.5db but re settled back to about 4.3db.

Now running a diagnostic on the hub 3, it says I have a few WiFi home network problems. Considering I’m about 1 metre from the hub, I have noticed a slightly longer issue of loading stuff up. The hub has been on 23 days without a reboot.

How often should you reboot it? my previous ISP, I never rebooted the router for most of the year.

Re: Home WiFi Network Has a Few Problems

I reboot every week, others never bother.

Which Hub do you have ?

What is your contracted speed ?

Have you checked the 'Check Service Status' at the top of the page ?

If nothing is showing try phoning 0800 561 0061, this will tell you of more local issues that may be affecting your district. Be aware that it isn't a manned line.

Go round all the accessible internal and external co-ax connections and ensure that they are finger tight.

If everything above is OK we need do some more troubleshooting; to start with …

Can you please

Type 192.168.0.1 (192.168.100.1 in Modem mode) into your browser URL bar and press enter.

Hub 2 & 3 When the page appears DO NOT LOG IN but click ‘Check Router Status’.

Hub 4 When the page appears LOG IN then click ‘Check Router Status’.

Copy and paste the contents of the Downstream, Upstream, Configuration and Network Log tabs onto here, if you get a yellow warning click the Post button again. Use one post for each tab if you wish. Please do not use screen grabs.

A Guru will be along soon to decipher the info.

Hub 3 & M200 package internet & phone only.

Can’t check service status as it seems virgin is working on the website.

Re: Home WiFi Network Has a Few Problems

Service status website was down for me too yesterday but back up now. In any case, there is also a Service Status number - 0800 561 0061 - which usually tells you of more local issues down to postcode level (that may not be listed on the Area Status web page which usually covers >1000’s of customers) - that may give you more info, but even that wont cover problems affecting just a few customers

Re: Home WiFi Network Has a Few Problems

Something not right here, every day I’m getting post RS errors on the line, a load more in the past 24 hrs and this is since the outage yesterday in a large area for a lot or people. My power levels look ok..what do I do? Speeds usually stick around 170-190 down 20 up
