High Latency and lots of Correcteds

padeath
On our wavelength

For the last couple of days I've noticed high latency as you can see by the BQM. The Correcteds are from when I rebooted the modem just yesterday!

During the times of high latency web pages take a long time to load, and watching streaming content keeps buffering.

1) 3.0 Downstream Channels Power levels are all far too high, -7 to + 7 or max +10 dBmV is normal.

2) 3,1 Downstream Channel  over 1 billion Pre Rs errors but only seven Post Rs errors is supper suspicious

Note Hub 4's fail to report errors for the 3.0 Downstream errors - so we can suspect the worst.

Review the Upstream tab of the Hub to see if there are any obvious concerns.

Call 0800 561 0061 see if there is a local fault reported.

An engineer is required to deal with the Downstream over power situation,

I just called the 0800 number, and there aren't any issues in my area.  I've not had any problems like this before and it only started the day after I moved my landline onto the hub instead of using the telephone line, maybe thats a reason?

Heres Upstream tab details:

Hi padeath, thank you for posting on our help forums and welcome back to the VM community.

We're sorry to see you've been having issues with your connection recently, we'd love to best assist you with this.
Just to confirm this, we've not had any reports in regard to broadband issues caused since we switched to fibre line however this may need some investigation so we see if there's some other kind of fault.

Upon our latest checks there don't seem to be any outages in your area causing problems with your BB connection, however we found your hub is switched to modem mode at the minute and we're unable to perform further checks from this end while it's at this status.

Can you please confirm if you're using 3rd party equipment (other router, boosters) and those have been active while you performed the BQM graph and got the above values we see?
If so, please kindly switch your hub back to router mode so we can diagnose any problems after monitoring your connection, let us know here once you've done this to confirm.

Also, please see if you can post a new BQM graph while all other routers and non-VM networking equipment has been removed completely.

You can also use our link here to run a few speed tests while on router mode, please run those if you can and tell us what values you get a) on safe mode, b) on modem mode?
(all 3rd party equipment should be disconnected while running the speed tests)

Lastly, feel free to pop a new post back here and let us know how things look since you last posted here on Saturday.
